I felt bad for the ladies sent to clean, because they had to wait for the sheets to make their way through the wash cycle (there were no extra sheet sets anywhere for them to use?). We called from the one person's phone, and they sent over various people to "clean," which only included changing the sheets. Only one person in our party had cell service, and the landline phone and internet were out all week. Upon arrival, it was clear the cabin had not been cleaned at all since the previous renters left. Unfortunately, these cabins are all "managed" by Carolina Mornings, and they did a horrible job managing the cabin in which we stayed. I also have added a picture of the view.…įirst of all, if I could give a rating for the cabin itself, it would get more than 2 stars. I have attached pictures of the abandoned resort and some of the house pictures. The only positives were the view (really good) and that maintenance was responsive to fix some of the grossness we encountered. The mouse in the kitchen was really cute but I didn’t know we would be having guests.

Garbages were full when we arrived and beer cans littered the grass surrounding the house. Our oven didn’t work all the time (likely a short somewhere), a glass in the cabinet had lipstick on it, our top bed sheet had blood on it (not ours!!) the air fryer was filled with crumbs and grease from the last guest. Our cabin had a lot wrong with it mostly due to poor housekeeping and neglect. The ski lifts and buildings are abandoned and broken into. Pool and clubhouse abandoned with stairs rotting and kiddie pool and hot tub filled with green water and pool drained. The resort is closed due to “Covid” but looks like it has been abandoned for many years.
We rented at this resort about 10 years ago and it was thriving and was very well kept.
Stayed at this “resort” and it was the worst place I ever rented. Find another place to stay!! A huge waste of money!… But, I would not stay here again becuase the resort is just creepy, run down and falling apart. We drove to the Arboretum one day which was really pretty too. drive to Ashville so we had a lot of driving to do every day for any activiites. We spent a lot of time on the porch watching the sun set over the mountain. We were thankful for the hot tub and pool table. It looks like they really tried to make it a great place. I feel bad for the people who own this house. There were no walking trails or bike trails or bike rentals to be found on site. My daughter started a spooky story all about it and we almost couldn't sleep that night.

It would make a great movie scene or book. We found a shed that was broken in and looked like old gurneys were in there. It has red gunk at the bottom of an empty pool. We used the tickets for a day at Biltmore and River Rafting which we enjoyed both very much! Rafting was our favorite! This "resort" is run down, rusted, falling apart, wood planks and dangerous walking areas.

However, they no longer give you a free zipline ticket. We were supposed to be able to use a free ticket per day with the Discovery pass. Disgusting! The side door was wide open when we got there too. It looked like people just sweep everything under the bed. It was a bit dusty and there was a diaper under the king bed along with crumbs. I brought wipes with me and cleaned all the bathrooms and kitchen as well. The sheets on the other beds didn't look that clean so we washed EVERYTHING when we got there. But, upon arrival, the sheets on one bed were still wet. It got two stars for the view of the mountain. The house is very beautiful (Margaritaville).
